GAMC override fails House; System discusses budget in House

Yesterday at the Capitol

On the House floor yesterday, the motion to override the governor's veto of the GAMC bill failed by a vote of 87-46. The bill, which would create a 16-month version of General Assistance Medical Care, the state health care program serving low-income Minnesotans, was the topic of negotiations this weekend between legislative leaders and the governor. You will recall the Senate was successfully able to override the veto last week.
