Bonding bill moves

The capital investment conference committee met yesterday evening and approved a slightly revised bonding bill that provides an $11.5 million increase for the sex offender treatment facility in Moose Lake that the governor wanted in the bill. The last offer from the working group was $986.4 million. The bill approved yesterday by the conference committee is at $999.6 million. It is anticipated that the bill will be on the House floor Thursday. The governor has not indicated whether he will veto the bill or use his line-item veto authority; however, he has previously said he does not want to sign a bill larger than $725 million.

The conference committee report can be found here.
